thank you Q10 . . . .

Before Christmas I was most concerned about my 75 year old father who suffers from heart failure. Dad seemed to be going down hill; no energy; severe loss of weight and generally had difficulty doing the simplest tasks. He was extremely ill.
I was lucky enough to read an article on Co enzyme Q10 which interested me greatly. I pursued the matter and on research, among other things, found the Co enzyme Q10 was prescribed extensively overseas (Japan, Sweden etc) by the medical profession specifically for heart failure.
I purchased the product for my father (who of course was on medically prescribed drugs). He took them firstly to his GP and then to his specialist to ask if he could safely include them with his medication. The answer was, “well they can’t do you any harm”.
Dad has now been on Opti CoQ10 for 5 months. He has returned to his normal weight which is remarkable in someone his age. He has more energy and strength, but the very best thing is he just feels so good. What is more, he looks it too! In fact to be honest he has a new lease on life.
Thank you Good Health and thank you CoQ10.

Essential oils for anxiety with the  scentsiblelife.
Sometimes our kids can get anxious and worried about things. Some more than others.
My daughter suffered anxiety quite often in her younger years, now it is occasionally. Nowadays when she is feeling a little worried over something even she knows what to do. She will go to the fridge for her “special perfume” which is just a roller bottle blend of calming oils diluted in a carrier oil. If any of my kids are worried about anything I also make them a personal inhaler containing any of the oils below.

Mums, don’t underestimate the power of inhalation. When it comes to emotional wellbeing, inhalation is actually considered the most effective.

The oils below are some commonly recommended oils in aromatherapy for children and anxiety. This is not an exhaustive list, there are other oils that are useful as well.
For example, cypress would be beneficial if the anxiety is due to transition of some kind.
Orange is extremely effective because it is a favourite with most kids and the more we like a smell, the better the effect.
If you are using a beautiful healing oil like frankincense, cedarwood or vetiver make sure you add a sweet smelling oil such as orange or geranium, because kids aren’t too fussed on the earthy smells.
These healing oils combined with breathing exercises, massage (even a hand massage is deeply calming) and talking with your child about their fears can have a wonderful, positive effect.

  • always talk to your natural health professional before using essential oils on children.
  • Do not use essential oils when pregnant or with infants with qualified advise.

Take vitamin C daily.

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin which is not manufactured by the body and must be obtained from diet or supplementation. It is critical for supporting immune function and the body’s defences. Ill health increases its urinary excretion and thus increase the bodies requirements.

Vitamin C is water soluble vitamin, which means that it is lost very easily from the body and requires topping up, on a regular, at least daily basis.

Eczema Tip: Protect The Barrier

Keeping eczema prone skin well moisturised is the key component of successfully managing the symptoms of eczema.  Eczema causes the skin to become thicker and scaly and very itchy. Even though the skin feels thicker, the barrier function is compromised and the affected skin is unable to retain moisture.

Applying moisturiser once a day is simply not enough for eczema prone skin.  Frequent applications throughout the day will make a significant difference to the condition of skin affected by eczema.

Use moisturiser liberally.  Apply it thickly like icing on a cake and gently massage into the skin.  Apply immediately after bathing or showering while the skin is still slightly damp and warm.  Take a tube of your moisturiser with you so you can reapply frequently throughout the day.

Eczema Awareness Tips from Oasis Beauty New Zealand

While there is no known cure for eczema, when the skin is well hydrated it is far less itchy and uncomfortable, therefore you are far less likely to scratch and break the surface of the skin.  Liberal application of moisturiser breaks the itch/scratch/itch cycle.

Eczema prone skin tends to be a lot more sensitive to skin care products so we encourage you to get into the habit of reading labels and avoid moisturisers containing known skin irritants.  You will be surprised how many ‘moisturisers’ contain ingredients that are not skin friendly.  Known skin irritants include:

  • SLS (sodium laurel sulfate), SLES (sodium laureth sulfate), ALS (ammonium lauryl sulfate)
  • Synthetic fragrance
  • Lanolin
  • Parabens
  • Preservatives (quaternium-15, diazolidinyl urea)

Approved by the NZ Eczema Association and recommended by NZ dermatologists, Rhino Repair contains none of the skin irritants listed above. With 12 natural ingredients, it is a powerful natural skin healing cream that soothes and heals irritated and itchy skin.
